Richard Kiel, a popular American actor, suffered from a hormonal condition known as acromegaly. Acromegaly is a syndrome that results when the pituitary gland produces excess growth hormone (hGH) after epiphyseal plate closure. Acromegaly is often also associated with gigantism. Gigantism is a condition characterized by excessive growth and height significantly above average Aside from Kiel, Andre the Giant and Tanya Angus are also suffering from these kind of disorder.

AndrĂ© the Giant, was a French professional wrestler and actor. His great size was a result of acromegaly, and led to his being dubbed “The Eighth Wonder of the World.” In the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), Roussimoff briefly held the WWF Championship. In 1993, he was the first inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame. He was 7 feet 4 inches talls and weighed 500 lb.
